Activity Reports:
– The previous owner of the lighthouse Dr Allan Ballard refused to sell the lighthouse to the government and also refused to never leave. It is said that his spirit still roams the property.

– A lightkeeper by the name of Peter Rasmussen was always seen smoking a cigar. Many visitors often smell a cigar within the buildings as well as outside.

– Footsteps can often be heard on the tower stairs.

– A figure has been reported at the top of the lighthouse when no one is in the tower. It’s reported that it may be Joseph Andreu, a lightkeeper that fell to his death from the previous lighthouse in 1850.

The daughters of Hezekiah Pity who was hired to renovate the lighthouse. One day, in 1873, Eliza, 13, and Mary, 15, were playing around and despite the warning of their father, climbed in the cart used to bring building materials from the bay to the lighthouse. Both girls drowned when it came loose and slid down a hill and into the bay. Today, the two girls can be heard laughing in the tower late at night. The eldest Pity girl is also spotted from time to time, wearing the same blue velvet dress and blue hair bow she died in. An unnamed black girl was also killed in the accident.

– A tall man is reported to be seen in the basement of the house.

– A hazy male figure is said to be seen in the lighthouse.

It’s believed that one of the young girls plays pranks with people. Mary, the oldest has been seen wearing the same blue dress she was wearing when she died. The sisters have been seen on the lighthouse catwalk.

  Investigation Summary:
Alaska Ghost Hunting Investigated the Lighthouse & Lightkeepers House with limited equipment which is more than likely the reason we did not capture any quality evidence.

Sometime in the future we would love to go back to the St. Augustine Lighthouse and perform an investigation using all the equipment we use at the investigation we perform in Alaska.
