Location Information:
Ester was originally a mining camp established prior to 1905 near Ester Creek. It was first reported in 1908 by the U.S. Geological Survey. Ester Gold Camp was established in 1936.

In 1941, the Ester Community Association was founded. In 1958 The F.E. Company sold their Ester camp, and it reopened under new management as a historic resort. The Cripple Creek Resort, which later became the Ester Gold Camp, featured a musical variety show including Robert W. Service’s poetry, held at a sawdust-strewn bar known as the Malemute Saloon, after Service’s poem, "The Shooting of Dan McGrew", until the resort closed in 2007.

In 1987, the gold camp was designated the Ester Camp Historic District by the National Register of Historic Places.

Haunting Claims:
Shadows have been seen in the larger building. People have reported being touched in the Malemute Saloon.

EMF Readings:


No EMF readings higher than 1.0mg were detected. AKGH considers readings of 1.0mg and below as background noise caused by the Earth.


Visual Evidence:
No visual evidence was found on any of the camcorders or still cameras.

Personal Experiences:
Sarah while Investigating with Susan felt was seemed like a large bug hitting her in the head in the back left womans restroom. They could not find any evidence of bugs in the room. They did see a quick flash of a shadow in the room and the camera they were using was repeatedly trying to autofocus on nothing.

After reviewing all of the potential evidence Alaska Ghost Hunting cannot determine without better evidence that amy Spirits reside on the property. The team plans to return for a full investigation in the next several months..
